The following felonies were reported:

* Hair Zone, 3537 W. 13th St., reported an attempted burglary there.

* Lindsay Monk and Heather Petzoldt, 1016 N. Diers Ave., reported a theft there.

Hall County Sheriff

Law enforcement arrested seven people on warrants in nine cases. No felonies were reported.

Hall County District Court

* Juan C. Ramirez, 19, Grand Island, pleaded no contest to failure to appear for a Nov. 26, 2007, incident and obstructing a police officer for a Dec. 3, 2007, incident. Charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana were dismissed for the Dec. 3, 2007, incident. He also pleaded no contest to the unlawful discharge of a gun for a March 14, 2007, incident. A charge of using a gun to commit a felony was dismissed for that incident. His sentencing is scheduled for March 13.

* Daniel L. Muir, 32, 2723 W. John St., pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia for a Jan. 22, 2007, incident; and second-degree forgery for a May 4, 2007, incident. His sentencing is scheduled for March 13. A charge of burglary was dismissed for a March 17, 2007 incident.

Hall County Court

* Ramon C. Cervantes, 47, 203 E. Ninth St., was sentenced to 45 days in jail, was ordered not to drive for one year and was fined $500 for attempted possession of cocaine and driving under the influence for an Oct. 27, 2007, incident.

* Abdullahi M. Abdi, 24, 918 W. Third St. No. 3, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years probation for misdemeanor third-degree assault, reduced from felony terroristic threats, for a Nov. 13, 2007, incident.

Driving under the influence

Richard L. Siemers, 28, 114 E. 22nd St., $400, nine months probation, six months no driving, seven days in jail, second case $1,000 fine, 90 days in jail, one year no driving; Kyle M. Boguslaw, 26, 827 E. Oklahoma, third-offense, $600, 30 days in jail, 18 months probation, two years no driving; Gadwall Kori, 45, 1025 N. Hancock, $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving.

Corrections

Child might be restrained

An article in Friday's Independent incorrectly reported how a Sudanese child may be silenced while in hiding from a soldier in that country's continuing civil war. The article should have stated that the child might be physically restrained by a family member.

newsboys concert set for Feb. 28

KEARNEY The newsboys, with special guests Rush of Fools, newworldson and Article One, will appear in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at the FirsTier Event Center in Kearney.

The date of the concert was incorrect in a Your Ticket calendar listing in Thursday's Independent.
