Edward Jones, Principal Financial ranked in top 100 employers list
Financial services firm Edward Jones was ranked No. 4 on Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, while the Principal Financial Group was ranked No. 21.
This is the ninth year Edward Jones, which was ranked No. 2 for large-size companies, has appeared on the list, while the Principal made its sixth consecutive appearance.
The "100 Best Companies to Work For" list is based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. Two-thirds of the total score comes from responses to a random employee survey, measuring things such as employee attitudes toward management, job satisfaction and camaraderie within the organization. The remaining one-third of the score is based on an evaluation of each company's demographic makeup, pay and benefits program and culture.
The magazine lists Edward Jones as having the best benefit options for work-life balance.
It also notes the Principal for its high number of women in the work force, 67 percent, including those at senior leadership levels.
In addition to the Fortune recognition, Edward Jones was also ranked first in J.D. Power and Associates' annual survey of customer satisfaction among full-service investors.
