Hall County FCE Fun Day set for Thursday

The Hall County Family and Community Education Clubs will host an FCE Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at College Park.

Programs scheduled for the event include: "Wool Felting," presented by Barbara Carlson and Linda Gallaway of the Fugitives FCE Club; "Community Recycling Service," with members of the Heartland Disposal and Recycling team; "Fabric Baskets," presented by Mary Pitchall and Debbie Warren from Material Girl; "Coffee Mug Creations," with Carol Beukenhorst of the Doni-Belles FCE club; "FCE and You," by Lois Berggren, South Central FCE District director; "Banding Together for Strength," presented by Extension Educator Cami Wells; and the video, Character Counts."

In addition, members of the Central Nebraska Humane Society staff will showcase their new facility and explain how they serve the community, and representatives of Hope Harbor, a service agency for the homeless, will share information about how they assist people in need.

The Family and Community Education organization strengthens individuals, families and communities through education, leadership and community action.

Admission is a donation to the Central Nebraska Humane Society; donation ideas include laundry supplies, paper towels, rubber gloves, AA and AAA batteries, blankets, towels, dog or cat treats and toys. Call the Extension office at 385-5088 for more ideas.

Registration is not required, but those attending are asked to bring a sack lunch.
