Nebraska closed in on completing its 2008 recruiting class over the weekend, getting a pair of Louisiana recruits, according to Rivals.com.
Safety P.J. Smith of River Ridge, La., and wide receiver Khiry Cooper of Shreveport, La., have given their verbal commitments to the Cornhuskers. With national signing day coming Wednesday, Nebraska's 2008 recruiting class now stands at 25 known members.
Smith is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound all-state selection who helped his team, John Curtis Christian, win a state title. Cooper is a 6-2, 175-pounder from Calvary Baptist Academy, who is also reportedly interested in playing baseball for Nebraska.
