Police/Sheriff

Anyone with information about any crime in the state may call the Grand Island-Hall County Crime Stoppers, 381-8822. Crime Stoppers guarantees that callers will remain anonymous.

A reward of up to $1,000 will be paid after law enforcement agencies have determined the seriousness of the crime and the usefulness of the information.

Inmate custody status can be obtained by calling the VINE hotline at (877) NE 4 VINE. Information is available 24 hours a day.

Grand Island Police

The following felony was reported:

* OK Liquor, 305 W. Koenig St., reported a burglary there. Alcohol, a VCR/DVD player and a camcorder were stolen.

Hall County Sheriff

Law enforcement arrested 15 people on warrants in 20 cases. No felonies were reported.

The Hall County Jail has 127 inmates, booked in 40 people and released 27 people.

* Justin M. Brooks, 31, Calistoga, Calif., was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and not having a drug tax stamp for a Feb. 2 incident.

* Jonathan M. Nierengarten, age unknown, San Francisco, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and not having a drug tax stamp for a Feb. 2 incident.

* Thomas G. Stender, 56, Lincoln, was charged with third-offense aggravated driving under the influence for a Jan. 30 incident.

Driving under the influence

Jeffery S. Adams, 32, 1103 E. Hall, 4400, 30 days in jail, six months no driving.


Correction

Vossberg to speak Thursday at YWCA

Plainview author Dennis Vossberg will talk about his historical novel, "Hector's Bliss, Black Homesteaders at Goose Lake, Nebraska," at noon Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Grand Island YWCA.

The day of the presentation was incorrect in a story that appeared in Sunday's Independent.
