A woman who ran over a Grand Island man following an argument has been sentenced to one to two years in prison.
Alicia A. Pfeifer, 23, 214 W. Seventh St., No. 4, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault. In exchange for her plea, a charge of using a car to commit a felony was dismissed.
In addition to her prison sentence, Pfeifer was ordered to pay $5,301 restitution.
Pfeifer was convicted of hitting BillyJoe Olinger, also known as BillyJoe Martinez, 20, with a Dodge Dynasty as her boyfriend chased Olinger on foot, Grand Island police Capt. Robert Falldorf said previously.
Prior to the incident, Pfeifer's boyfriend and Olinger were arguing over money. Witnesses told police that Pfeifer swerved at Olinger before hitting him, Falldorf said.
Olinger was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where doctors discovered he had a skull fracture and a brain bleed, but were unsure if the injuries predated the hit-and-run incident. Olinger did suffer scrapes to his skin as a result of being hit by the car.
