A local convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Monday night and police are seeking a man in connection with the incident.

At 8:15 p.m. Monday, Chad Chambers reported being robbed at Eddie's Fast Gas and More, 417 N. Sycamore, according to a press release from the Grand Island Police Department.

The release also gave the following information:

Chambers told officers he was working behind the cashier counter when a black man ran into the business, pointed a small black revolver at Chambers' chest and demanded money.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6-foot to 6-foot-4, 160 pounds, having a slender build, with short dark hair. He was in his late 20s to early 30s and spoke with a Sudanese accent. He was wearing a black and yellow baseball cap, a black and yellow jacket, black pants and a blue bandana, which covered most of his face.

No one was injured in the robbery.
