Grand Island Northwest's Jenna Rouzee has been named to PrepVolleyball.com's Molten Improvement team.
Rouzee was a 5-foot-5 setter on the freshman team two years ago. She grew into a dominating 6-1 setter/attacker on the varsity in 2007, leading Northwest to the Class B finals.
Growing eight inches in two years is both a blessing and a curse.
On the positive side, after learning how to attack, Rouzee became a force at the net, using her new height to deliver 220 kills.
She also had 595 assists, 66 ace serves, 269 digs and 64 blocks for a 30-3 team. On the negative side, she had to fight through constant growing pains that affected her knees, ankles and back. First Team All Conference, All Area and All State in Class B,
Rouzee emerged as the team's captain and leader after playing only sparingly as a sophomore.
