In honor of the 85th birthday of Virginia R. Ahlschwede, her family is requesting a card shower.

Her family includes John and Judy Ahlschwede and Richard Ahlschwede, all of Central City, Barbara and Chris Gunther of Laramie, Wyo., and Sharon Ahlschwede of Sylmar, Calif. She has three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ahlschwede was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Red Oak, Iowa.
