Stewart-Bittner

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island was the setting Sept. 8, 2007, when Lisa Stewart and Pat Bittner of Wood River were joined in matrimony. Father Frank Curran officiated.

Parents of the bride are Dave and Patricia Stewart of Wood River. Duane and Janet Bittner of Alda are parents of the groom.

Julie Thompson of Wood River was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Fischer, Heather Scheel, Jodi Halm, Christi Engel and Jeannette Staab. Amy Rathje was personal attendant.

Best man was Tim Zavala of Hickman. Jeremy Fisher, Jeremy McFarland, J.R. McFarland, Jamie Morgan and Clint Axford were groomsmen. Ushering guests were Mitch Spiehs, Wade Wiles, Rob Stithem and Jared Kenyon.

Miniature bride and groom were Briana Fanta and Camden Thompson.

Christian Thompson and Miranda Fanta were candlelighters.

Flower girl was Bailee Zavala and ringbearer was Carson Thompson.

Special guests were grandparents, Alvin and Edean Gembala and Don and Donna Bittner.

The couple live in Grand Island.

The bride graduated in 1999 from Wood River Rural High School. She received an associate degree in radiologic technology from Southeast Community College at Lincoln in 2002. She works for St. Francis Medical Center as a radiologic technologist.

The groom, a 1995 graduate of WRRHS, received a degree in electrical construction from Southeast Community College at Milford in 1996. He is a wireman for Grand Island Utilities.
