The Grand Island Community Foundation has set a deadline of March 1 for first-quarter requests for Great Idea grants, Community Impact grants, Arts and Culture grants and Basic Needs grants.

Great Idea grants respond to unexpected needs or special funding opportunities where a small investment could make a big difference to nonprofits and their constituents in Grand Island/Hall County. Grants range from $50 to $500. Local nonprofits are eligible to apply for funding through the fields of Arts and Culture, Children and Youth, Civic Enrichment, Community Health or Education.

Community Impact grants are designed to help local nonprofits address unmet needs and unique program opportunities.

The Arts and Culture fund supports hands-on programs that encourage, enhance and develop an understanding of art and the humanities, and the Basic Needs fund supports area programs providing fundamental services to meet basic needs.

Applications and guidelines are available at the foundation's office in the St. Stephen's Community Center at 410 W. Second St. Suite 2 or can be accessed online at www.gicf.org. For more information, call 381-7767.
