For the fourth time in three weeks, Michael Van Boening of Grand Island has been arrested.
This time he was arrested in Hamilton County for driving under the influence. He's had two DUI arrests in Hall County since Jan. 20.
Hamilton County Sheriff Kirk Handrup said Van Boening was arrested over the weekend. He believed it was early Sunday morning and Van Boening had already bonded out of the Hamilton County Jail by Sunday afternoon.
Handrup referred all other questions about the arrest to Hamilton County Attorney Mike Powell on Monday.
This is Van Boening's third DUI arrest and fourth arrest in the last three weeks.
Van Boening, 23, of 335 S. Plum St., was first arrested on Jan. 20, when he was stopped shortly after midnight near Bismark Road and Oak Street and his 8-month-old daughter was found in a car seat in the back of the vehicle, police Capt. Robert Falldorf said previously.
According to court documents, Van Boening smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. A bottle of vodka was also found in the vehicle.
He was charged with DUI and felony child abuse. That case is pending in Hall County Court.
At the end of January, he was charged with intentional child abuse for leaving the same infant at home alone on Jan. 27, Falldorf said.
Van Boening was arrested again at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at Locust Street and Delaware Avenue, according to jail records.
He was released on a 10 percent of $2,500 bond and must return to court in that case at 2 p.m. Feb. 13.
He was released on his own recognizance for the first two arrests, but he was ordered not to have any contact with his daughter after the second arrest.
