Humiston files for re-election to county board

Hall County Supervisor Bob Humiston has filed for re-election to the county board.

Humiston, 59, of 116 E. Eighth, was first appointed to represent District 6 in 2000 to fill the unexpired term of Supervisor Tammie Stelk.

He was elected the same year to continue on with a four year term and re-elected in 2004.

Humiston is a Republican. He owns and manages Rentway Express at 3022 W. Old Potash Highway.

He is married and has three adult children, three adult step-children and 15 grandchildren.

Now that the county has its jail needs met with the construction of the new Hall County Corrections Center, Humiston said it's time to look at countywide cost-saving measures.

"I really want to look at more interlocal agreements with the city to get more efficient," Humiston said.

Before serving on the county board, Humiston was a member of the Hall County Weed Board.

Incumbents have until 5 p.m. Friday to file for elected office.
