Bolton, Fahey pace GICC vs. Wood River
WOOD RIVER Sam Bolton scored 18 points and Spencer Fahey added 14 to lead Class C-2 No. 4-rated (Omaha World-Herald) Grand Island Central Catholic to a 51-31 win over Wood River on Friday.
GICC (15-6) expanded a 3-point first quarter lead into a 33-22 halftime advantage.
Skylar Wissing topped Wood River (3-15) with 12 points.

McCOOK Cory Jafton led all scorers with 16 points for McCook in a 63-48 win over Grand Island Northwest on Friday.
Zach Weiser and Seth Schaeffer both added 10 points for the Bison (13-10).
Adam Wemhoff led the Vikings (5-14) with 13 points.

Beatrice edges past Northwest, 48-39
Beatrice outscored Grand Island Northwest 13-9 in the fourth quarter to hold on for a 48-39 road victory on Friday.
"It was probably our best overall game we've played offensively and defensively," Northwest coach Russ Moerer said. "We took a good basketball team right down to the fourth quarter."
Shayna Schacher led the Vikings (2-16) with 13 points and Jenna Rouzee added 10.
Northwest faces McCook Monday in the Class B, District 5 tournament at the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
