Grand Island Senior High School orchestra students have been accepted into several statewide honor orchestras. All of the students auditioned for positions in the orchestras. Each orchestra will present or has presented a concert at the conclusion of a clinic.

The Hastings College Honor Orchestra was Jan. 31 through Feb. 2.

GISH students who participated were: Laura Steele, violin; Leslie Steele, violin; Emalie Clement, viola; and Ben Robbins, viola.

Leslie Steele and Clement also participated in the Nebraska Wesleyan Honor Orchestra Feb. 7 through 9.

The University of Nebraska-Omaha Honor Orchestra was Jan. 11 and Jan. 12. Islander students who participated were: Laura Steele, violin; Leslie Steele, violin; Amber Kunze, violin; Linda Nguyen, violin; Breanna Casares, violin; Ben Robbins, viola; Emalie Clement, viola; Teagen Nabity, cello; Lucy Allen, cello; Margaret Gregory, flute; and Stacia Marisch, French horn.
