Wedding vows were exchanged between Kelly Gruwell and Shawn Flebbe, both of Grand Island, on Oct. 20, 2007, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. Pastor Randy Fett officiated.

Alan and Becky Gruwell of Grand Island are parents of the bride. The groom's parents are Lyle Flebbe and Jan and Sid Moe, all of Grand Island.

Terra Rozendal of Grand Island was the bride's honor attendant. Her other attendants were Brooke Gruwell, sister-in-law of the bride, Erin Miner, Jamie Thuernagle and Ann Roberts. Reta Anderson was personal attendant.

Best man was Chuck Wiley of Grand Island. Jason Gruwell, the bride's brother, Garrett Havel, Mike Penrose and Matt Brodbeck were groomsmen. Ushering guests were Dan Bruns, Bruce Moe, stepbrother of the groom, Grant Edwardson and Roland Sokol.

Sadie Thille and Ashley Heidrick were candlelighters. Reader was Joyce Pollard, aunt of the bride.

Flower girls were Lindsey Gruwell and Reese Rozendal and ringbearer was Conner Sokol. Lindsay Anderson attended the guest book. Greeters were Brenna Heidrick and Cori Scott.

Special guests were Mary Koch and Betty Gruwell, grandmothers of the bride, and Ann and Pete Curlo, grandparents of the groom.

A reception at the Platt Duetsche followed the ceremony. Host and hostess attendants were Judy and Mike Heidrick, Diana Honore and Mary Ann Sokol. After a honeymoon trip to San Diego, the couple live in Grand Island.

The couple both graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1997.

The bride attended Central Community College-Grand Island for three years and works for Ben's Long Term Care Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.

The groom received a degree in construction from Central Community College-Hastings. He is a regional engineer for Millard Refrigerated Services.
