KEARNEY Gibbon outscored Franklin 15-9 in the first quarter and used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a first-round win in the Class C-2, Subdistrict 9 tournament.
Josh Reinertson led the Buffaloes (13-7) with 17 points. Jordan Reinertson added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Bryce Cudaback and Anthony Benge each chipped in 10 points.
Gibbon advances to face Grand Island Central Catholic today in the semifinals.
