KEARNEY Gibbon outscored Franklin 15-9 in the first quarter and used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a first-round win in the Class C-2, Subdistrict 9 tournament.

Josh Reinertson led the Buffaloes (13-7) with 17 points. Jordan Reinertson added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Bryce Cudaback and Anthony Benge each chipped in 10 points.

Gibbon advances to face Grand Island Central Catholic today in the semifinals.

ALBION Greeley-Wolbach placed four players in double figures while knocking off Elba in the first round of the Class D-2, Subdistrict 4 tournament.

Damon Poss led the Titans (6-13) with 18 points. Dustin Nordhues had 13, Travis Nelson 12 and Ben Callahan 11.

Jeff Wilson led Elba (1-18) with 22 points, including three 3-pointers. Joel Sandoz chipped in 10 points.
