Play of the Day
Just like opening day one week ago, we plan to start our weekend off with a winner.
This time, we'll wager on Tammy in today's first race to build our bankroll, which remains even after three days of live racing.
Tammy, a Fortuoso filly owned and trained by Marv Johnson, made her racing debut at Prairie Meadows and finished fourth in a maiden special weight race. She then stepped up to stakes competition and finished third in the State Fair Futurity at Lincoln.
Case On Ice concerns us in a field of six, but not enough to bet against Tammy, who was entered as part of a two-horse entry along with Box Hopper.
Give us $50 to win if Tammy runs. Otherwise, all bets are off.
Starting balance: $1,500
Last Sunday's result: Tellin On You was scratched from the third race
Current balance: $1,500
Monk's Exotics
We like Buckland Hollow from the David Anderson barn in the third race today. We'll play him on top of the field in the $1 trifecta for a $20 bill.
The bet: $1 trifecta key Buckland Hollow/all/all
Starting Balance: $700.
Last Sunday's Result: Ow! So Close! We hit a $20 winner in the first leg of our pick-3 bet, but then finished second and had the last leg, we could have been an early contender.
Current Balance: $670.20
