Ah, February, the month of love?
You wouldn't know it by the headlines we're in the midst of "political madness"! Presidential primaries are in full swing, state races are gearing up for this fall, and it is hard to believe that the state's legislative session is half over.
There are many issues pressing on us every day. They involve our emotions, our finances, our morals, our families, our homes, our neighbors and our friends. There are so many choices and decisions and too much information presented to sway us this way or that. How will we ever understand or know where to take a stand?
Well, if you didn't know by now, the chamber, your chamber, is here to help! We have a committee of very dedicated and involved people from all walks of our community trying to sort it all out and help in the process.
Our Governmental Affairs Committee spends their "spare time" reading and reviewing legislation that may impact our business community. They gather every two weeks to discuss and compare what they have found, and then they make recommendations to the chamber board as needed. Our state and local elected leaders do care about their constituents' opinions. Therefore, this committee does not take its work lightly.
Please give us your input. You are welcome to attend any of these meetings or join the committee. We want to represent you the best way we can!
