Kelsey Houdek and Kevin Barrett, both of Lincoln, are planning an April 5, 2008, wedding at the United Congregational Church in Grand Island.

The future bride is the daughter of Donald and Cindy Houdek of Chapman. She is the granddaughter of Donald and Rosalind Fenton of Grand Island and Raymond and Adeline Houdek of Chapman.

The prospective groom is the son of Karen and Dan Novak of Fremont and Michael and Stephanie Barrett of New Port Richey, Fla. He is the grandson of William Cramer of Harlingen, Texas, and Marty Barrett of Rogers, Ark.

Miss Houdek is attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Southeast Community College, studying elementary education and coaching. She works for Sheridan Child Development Center in Lincoln.

Barrett attended Fremont High School and works for Oasis Plumbing.
