Michael Van Boening of Grand Island has been arrested four times for DUI in five weeks.
The latest arrest was Sunday morning in York County.
York County Sheriff Dale Radcliff said Van Boening was arrested for DUI by a Nebraska State Patrol trooper. He had no other details of the arrest, other than to say it occurred outside the city of York, but within York County.
State Patrol dispatch at the Troop C headquarters in Grand Island confirmed the arrest happened at 1:10 Sunday morning in the parking lot at the Victoria Inn at the Interstate 80/York interchange.
In the latest in a recent series of arrests for Van Boening.
Van Boening has been arrested for DUI twice in Hall County and once in Hamilton County since the end of January. He has also been arrested for child abuse.
Van Boening, 23, of 335 S. Plum St., was first arrested on Jan. 20, when he was stopped shortly after midnight near Bismark Road and Oak Street and his 8-month-old daughter was found in a car seat in the back of the vehicle, Grand Island police Capt. Robert Falldorf said previously.
According to court documents, Van Boening smelled of alcohol, slurred his speech and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. A bottle of vodka was also found in the vehicle.
He was charged with DUI and felony child abuse.
At the end of January, he was charged with intentional child abuse for leaving the same infant at home alone on Jan. 27, Falldorf said.
Van Boening's second DUI arrest occurred at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at Locust Street and Delaware Avenue in Grand Island, according to Hall County jail records.
His third DUI arrest came on Feb. 10 in Hamilton County.
Van Boening was released on his own recognizance for the first two arrests one for DUI and one for child abuse. He posted a 10 percent of $2,500 bond for the second DUI arrest and a 10 percent of $5,000 bond for the third DUI arrest.
He's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in the Hamilton County DUI case.
York County Sheriff Radcliff said as of early Sunday evening, Van Boening was still being held in the York County Jail on his DUI arrest there.
