Best exotics: Key Bold Rider in the early daily double; play Swedes Fever on top of Wild Momie and Jack Knife Judy in the fourth race exacta

Play of the Day

Rather than put our $50 on the nose of Swedes Fever in today's fourth race, we'll take a shot in the $25,000 Orphan Kist, today's ninth race.

We like Lovesablumin, a multiple stakes winner owned, trained, and bred by Terrell Hemmer of Grand Island A solid field of Nebraska-breds prevents us from touting the Blumin Affair mare as a lock.

With that in mind, we'll play two trifectas that cost $24 apiece.

On one ticket, we'll place Blumin Affair on top of a four-horse box that includes Plaer's Trump, Scat's Princess, C.R. Charmer and the two-horse Marv Johnson entry.

On a separate ticket, we'll play a $1 trifecta box that includes Blumin Affair, Plaer's Trump, Scat Princess, and C.R. Charmer.

Starting balance: $1,500

Friday's result: Our $40 win bet on Forty Si returned $3.80 to win, with our $20 straight exacta returned $8.40.

Current balance: $1,685
