The 50th wedding anniversary of Dale E. and Levada Nielson of Chapman will be celebrated with an open house beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Liederkranz, 403 W. First St., in Grand Island.

Hosting the event are couple's children, Keith Nielson of Polk, James Nielson of Prior Lake, Minn., Neal Nielson of Ceresco, Dale S. Nielson of Chapman, Steven Nielson of Nijeveen, The Netherlands, David Nielson of Archer, Deane Nielson of Nebraska City and Ronald Nielson of Grand Island. They have 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Dale E. Nielson and Levada Svitak were married March 9, 1958, at the Methodist Church in Central City.
