His family includes his wife Mildred; daughter and son-in-law, Linell and Jerry Schultz of Doniphan, and son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sue Gulzow of Grand Island. He has five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gulzow was born March 8, 1918, at Doniphan to Hans Jr. and Freida (Boltz) Gulzow.
