Brodbeck serves state historical society officer
Annabelle Brodbeck Marsh of Grand Island has been installed as second vice president of the Nebraska State Historical Society.
The governing board includes 12 members elected by the membership of the NSHS and three who are appointment by the Governor.
Marsh recently served as president of the Central Health Department Board and has been active in a variety of historical organizations in the Platte Valley.
Citizen diplomat meets State Department officials
Barbara Becker, a volunteer with the Grand Island Area Council on International Visitors, was part of a meeting with 90 communities across the country that met at the National Council for International Visitors Annual meeting Feb. 13 through 16.
As part of the NCIV network of organizations that coordinate local programs for the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program, Becker and other citizen diplomats arrange local professional meetings, cultural activities and home hospitality for current and potential foreign leaders visiting the United States.
