Third-period woes doom Tri-City, 6-2

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. Sioux Falls scored four times in the third period to down Tri-City 6-2 on Sunday.

The Stampede led 2-0 in the second period before Tom Craig scored for the Storm at 13 minutes, 23 seconds.

Sioux Falls struck three times in an 8:22 span of the third, including two goals by Jake Hansen to complete a hat trick, to go up 5-1.

Mario Lamoureux added Tri-City's final goal at 15:01 of the third.

Aaron Rock made 27 saves for the Storm. Max Strang had 21 for Sioux Falls, which moved into a three-way tie for second place in the West Division with Sioux City and Lincoln. Tri-City trails those teams by 16 points with 12 games remaining.

Tri-City hosts Green Bay for a weekend series starting on Friday.
