State needs to halt benefits for illegals
Our Governor Dave Heineman and Attorney General Jon Bruning are urging Nebraskans to ask senators on the Legislature Judiciary Committee to send an immigration bill (LB963) to the full Legislature. Please contact these senators: Brad Ashford, Steve Lathrop, Vickie McDonald, Amanda McGill, Dwite Pedersen and DiAnna Schimek. We the people, which is about 86 percent, do not want any of the 20 million illegal law breakers to work or live here in our country. All the Nebraska residents are upset with our Nebraska senators. Everybody knows that the 86 percent of the people want this bill to go to the full Legislature and be passed because the people want it and our senators better listen to the people. Nobody wants any illegals here, only the rich want them for cheap labor. It seems that our state senators are getting just like our United States senators. They do not vote for what the people want, only what the rich want. All the people that want the bill into the full Legislature and see it passed, go to www.nebraskalegislature.gov. Let's get behind Dave and Jon and back them to the hills.

Haase comments draw fire
Congratulations to reporter Overstreet for exposing the sheer idiocy of councilwoman Hasse's no smoking arc on the front page photo on Feb. 28. Be aware Mrs. Haase may take umbrage at your work and ban repoters next.
Mrs Haase's further comments in that same article bring two words to mind: sanctimony and arrogance. She exposes her vitriolic hatred for smokers and utter disdain for the plight of the homeless. Mark Twain had it right when he said " Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt".

Hillary and Obama are bad choices
Even though you have to be 18 years old to vote, I would like to express my feelings about the candidates. Why would you want a president who doesn't salute the flag? I've been following the debate on the news and I keep hearing Barack doesn't salute the flag. We salute the flag to show our freedom and to show our devotion to our country. If he gets voted into office, we are risking our freedom and our right to be devoted to our country. As far as Hillary Clinton goes, why would we want a woman president. Some countries don't respect women; they just don't see them as equals or as leaders. Our nation has gotten along for many years with a guy president, so why would we jeopardize our nation by electing Hillary. I am a concerned 14-year-old.

Thanks to St. Paul tourney hosts
Thank you St. Paul for operating an excellent C-3 District wresting tournament. It took many dedicated volunteers to make sure everything went just right and it did. My weekend was delightful.
