An open house will be hosted by the family of Viola (Schmersal) Ruff in celebration of her 90th birthday. The event is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 212 W. 12th St., in Grand Island and is elevator accessible.

Her family includes Roger and Dorothy Ruff of Broomfield, Colo., and Donna and Tom Stoner of Jackson, Minn. She has five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ruff was born March 15, 1918, in Malcolm.
