The family of Evelyn Speck Samway of Grand Island will be hosting an open house in honor of her 90th birthday. The event is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at the Elks Club, 631 S. Locust St., in Grand Island.

Evelyn was born March 18, 1918, in Grand Island.

Her family includes Carol Samway of McCook, the late Larry Samway; Charles and Sharon Samway of Sterling, Colo.; Dennis and Pat Samway of Elwood; Eileen Samway and special friend Larry Kosmicki of St. Libory, the late Jim Samway; and Lynn and Nancy Johnson of Grand Island. She has 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
