Indulge Salon hires four
Audrey Borgheiinck, Megan Garrison, Casey Johnson and Brittan Middleton have all joined Indulge Salon and Spa, 1004 N. Diers Ave. Suite 100.
Borgheiinck, a licensed massage therapist, graduated from the Omaha School of Massage Therapy and has three years of experience.
Garrison, a cosmetologist, graduated from Xenon International Academy and attended spring/fall Peel's shows.
Johnson is a licensed massage therapist and will perform deep-tissue, Swedish and soothing stone massages, as well as wraps and pedicures. She graduated from the Myotherapy Institute in 2005 and received a degree in exercise physiology from Hastings College this year.
Middleton is a cosmetologist/owner at Indulge and has five years of experience in the salon industry. She has attended numerous continuing education classes as well as the spring/fall Peel's shows.

Koch joins Northwestern Mutual Financial Network
Kent Koch is a newly appointed financial representative with the Tri-City Group of Grand Island, a part of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
As a financial representative, Koch is part of a network of specialists offering a wide array of financial products, including life insurance, disability income, long-term care insurance and retirement planning.
Before joining Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Koch was territory merchandising director at Wm. Bolthouse Farms Inc. in Nashville, Tenn.
He is a native of Grand Island and received a bachelor of science in music business from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005. He also recently completed six years of active enlistment in the Nebraska Air National Guard.
Koch is a member of the Grand Island chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and Peace Lutheran Church. He lives in Grand Island with his wife, Kacey.

KOLN/KGIN-TV hires news director
Jerry Howard has been hired as the news director at KOLN/KGIN-TV. He will oversee KOLN/KGIN news operations, including www.kolnkgin.com. He replaces former News Director Randy Lube, who resigned in December 2007.
Howard, originally from Kansas, comes to KOLN/KGIN from Great Falls, Mont., where he served as KRTV news director for three years. Howard has 25 years of experience in nearly every aspect of the industry, working as a radio producer, television reporter and advertising salesman. He spent 15 years as a news director/manager while teaching at private Christian colleges and the University of Oklahoma.
KOLN/KGIN-TV is a CBS affiliate that serves 64 counties in southeast and Central Nebraska and northern Kansas. The station is owned by Gray Television Inc., a television broadcast company that has headquarters in Atlanta. Gray currently operates 36 television stations serving 30 markets.
Wilson, Heusinkvelt join McCain Foods staff
Tod Heusinkvelt and Lisa Wilson have accepted new positions at McCain Foods USA in Grand Island.
Heusinkvelt has been promoted to the position of McCain Competitive Edge manager. He joined the Grand Island facility in 1989 as a packaging operator and was promoted to a packaging mechanic in 1993. In 2002, he was promoted to a packaging supervisor. He brings 18 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry to his new position.
Wilson has accepted the position of human resources specialist. She joined the Grand Island facility in December 2007 and recently completed her professional certification in human resources.
McCain's headquarters are located in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada. It is the world's largest manufacturer of frozen French fries and appetizer snacks, with more than 60 production facilities on six continents and more than 20,000 employees worldwide.
Neneman named to state motor vehicle licensing board
Roy Neneman, owner of Roy's Grand Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep-Mazda, has been appointed as a member of the Nebraska Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board by Gov. Dave Heineman.
His term began on Jan. 31, and he will serve until May 18, 2009.
The Nebraska Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board is the state agency that licenses and regulates motor vehicle/trailer/motorcycle sales and their salespeople. The board also licenses manufacturers and distributors and their representatives. Auto auctions are licensed by the board, as are wrecker/salvage businesses that buy vehicles and dismantle them for the purpose of selling parts or scrap. The board also takes consumer complaints against licensed dealers.
The board is composed of 10 members appointed by the governor to serve what is typically a three-year appointment. The chairman of the board is the director of the Department of Motor Vehicles. The remaining board members are one member of the general public, one new motor vehicle dealer from each of the three congressional districts, two used motor vehicle dealers, one trailer dealer, one factory representatives and one motorcycle dealer.
Alexander receives top real estate award
Matt Alexander of Ord was recently recognized for his outstanding efforts in real estate sales.
Alexander, a professional farm manager and real estate sales agent with Farmers National Co., received the company's top award for selling more than $1 million worth of real estate in 2007. The award was presented at a companywide meeting in Omaha.

Sestak receives health care certification
Cynthia Sestak, assistant director for the Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System in Grand Island, has been board certified in health care administration by the American College of Healthcare Executives.
She achieved certification by passing the college's board of governors examination in health care administration.
Sestak joined the Veterans Affairs Department in 1991, earned her master of arts in management from Doane College and her bachelor's degree in health information management from the College of St. Mary in Omaha.
Devine, Urbanec take part in UNO certified public manager program
Laura Urbanec, executive director of the Central Health Center in Grand Island, and Andrew L. Devine, city administrator/clerk/treasurer for the city of Albion, are participating in the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Public Administration's new Nebraska Certified Public Manager Program.
The program, designed for professionals working in government or nonprofit organizations, has an inaugural class of 15 participants. Class members come from all levels of government, nonprofit organizations, higher education and the private sector.
The Nebraska Certified Public Manager Program is a nationally recognized comprehensive management development certification. It offers participants the skills-based knowledge necessary to improve themselves and their organizations. Through a combination of online and in-residence sessions during the year, professionals of all educational backgrounds gain the knowledge and skills they need to become stronger leaders, managers and supervisors.
The program kicked off with a Jan. 10 reception for participants in their families, and courses began on Jan. 11 and 12.
Horky recognized for Arrow Seed Co. performance
Mike Horky of Loup Valley Supply, St. Paul, was recognized for reaching the bronze level of achievement during Arrow Seed Co.'s meeting on Feb. 19 in Kearney.
Arrow Seed Co. of Broken Bow supplies forages, alfalfa, small grains, pasture and conservation grasses, turf grasses, habitat and food plot mixes and miscellaneous seeds through a dealer network across Nebraska. It recognizes dealers for their outstanding sales performance in the gold, silver and bronze levels.

Stines, Hudnall attend contact lens conference
Dr. Mark Stines and Dr. Chad Hudnall of Grand Island's Family Eyecare Center attended the Heart of America Contact Lens and Primary Care Congress in Kansas City, Mo.
In its 47th year, the Heart of America congress has grown to be one of the largest contact lens and primary eye care conferences. It offers a complete educational experience covering new and advanced techniques for all types of contact lenses available today, the latest information on the medical treatment of eye diseases, the latest in glaucoma management and new innovations in enhancing patients' vision.
Stines is an alumnus of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., and Hudnall is an alumnus of Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington. Both Hudnall and Stines are Grand Island residents and maintain offices in Grand Island and St. Paul.
Hartman attends lymphedema management conference
Carlotta Hartman, an occupational therapist at Grand Island Physical Therapy's Balance and Mobility Center, recently attended the Academy of Lymphatic Studies lymphedema management course for complete decongestive therapy. The class covered topics including skin care, manual lymph drainage, compression therapy and exercise.
Hartman specializes in occupational therapy, women's health and lymphedema. She received her bachelor of science in occupational therapy and her bachelor of arts in psychology. She has been practicing occupational therapy in Grand Island for 10 years with Grand Island Physical Therapy.
Hartman is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and Nebraska Occupational Therapy Association.
Dixson participates in therapy course
Elizabeth Dixson, physical therapist and doctor of physical therapy, recently participated in a craniosacral therapy course presented by the Upledger Institute, a health care organization that offers continuing education courses to medical professionals worldwide.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment used to improve the function of the central nervous system by releasing restrictions in the craniosacral system the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
It has been successfully used to treat headaches, neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, stress and tension-related disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, chronic fatigue, motor coordination difficulties, TMJ syndrome and orthopedic injuries.
Dixson practices physical therapy with an emphasis in manual therapy at the Grand Island Physical Therapy Balance and Mobility Center in Grand Island. She received her doctor of physical therapy degree from Des Moines University in 2007 and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Carlson set for speaking engagements across U.S.
CENTRAL CITY Barry Carlson, president of Carlson & Associates of Central City, continues to book keynote speaking venues throughout the United States.
On March 4, he entertained the Archer Credit Union Annual Customer Banquet in Central City. On March 17, he will be headed to Las Vegas to address the American Equity Sales Forum.
