Six-week fishing contest scheduled
Omaha As temperatures warm and ice melts from local lakes and reservoirs, Nebraska anglers take to the water for a six-week fishing contest to run March 8 through April 15.
The contest is hosted by the Nebraska Fish & Game Association (NEFGA) and sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.
The NEFGA's Spring Fishing Contest is open to anyone with a valid 2008 fishing license and participation is free of charge.
Anglers can register to participate on the NEFGA's Website at www.nefga.org.
Once registered, anglers can submit their photographic entries and view others' entries in any of nine contest divisions including bass, bluegill, walleye, catfish, crappie, fly fishing, bow fishing, recruitment of young anglers and conservation.
After April 15, NEFGA members and contest participants will vote for this year's contest winners which will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by Bass Pro Shops at their Council Bluffs location near the end of April.
