Area groups receive marketing grants

Several Central Nebraska groups will receive funds as part of $125,000 in tourism marketing grants announced this week by the state Department of Economic Development.

Kool-Aid Days and the Adams County Convention and Visitors Bureau will receive $5,000 to promote Kool-Aid Days in Hastings, and the Mid-Nebraska Community Center will get $5,652 for the Accordion Jamboree Festival in Grand Island.

The Lincoln Highway Scenic and Historic Byway receives $6,000 for promotion, and Stuhr Museum and the Grand Island/Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau receives $2,895 to promote opportunities for travelers during the Christmas season.

The Adams County CVB receives $4,070 for the "Connections to the Past" promotional campaign, and the Sherman County Economic Development Board receives $2,899 to promote activities at the Sherman Reservoir and other area attractions.
