Younkers to host Goodwill Sale
MILWAUKEE Clean out your closet between March 26 and April 7 and enjoy a reward from Younkers and Goodwill Industries.
During the semiannual Goodwill Sale, customers who donate clean, gently used clothing and home textiles at participating locations will receive coupons toward the purchase of new merchandise. One 20 percent-off apparel coupon, with minimum exclusions, is given per item donated at Younkers stores.
The donated clothing and textiles will be sold in local Goodwill retail stores. Revenues will help fund job training and other programs for people with disabilities, welfare recipients and other job seekers.
The retail trade-in promotion is in its 14th year. In 2007 alone, the event generated more than 9 million pounds of donated merchandise. With those donations, Goodwill earned an estimated $12.5 million in revenues for its programs.
"The simple act of cleaning out your closet can make a real difference in the lives of hundreds of people in your community," said George W. Kessinger, president and chief executive officer of Goodwill Industries International. "And by donating to Goodwill, you are investing in the economic health of your community."
