Douglas and Laurie Retzlaff of Palmer are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Ann, to Shane Matthew, son of Rich and Rhea Parsons of Hordville.

Katie is the granddaughter of Delores Santin of Fullerton, the late Donald Santin and August and Carolyn Retzlaff of Grand Island.

Shane is the grandson of Rogene Shoup of Central City, the late Emmett Shoup and the late E.N. "Pars" and Shirley Parsons of Hordville.

The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Palmer High School and a 2006 graduate of Hastings College, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in advertising/public relations. Katie is a wedding coordinator/sales manager for Regency Lodge Hotel in Omaha.

Shane graduated from Polk-Hordville High School in 1999. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2003. Shane is the branch manager for CitiFinancial in Fremont.

Katie and Shane are planning a June 28, 2008, wedding at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island.
