Planning to be married Sept. 20, 2008, at Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, Vt., are Allison Teich and John J. McGowan, both of New York City.

Bertram Teich and Lois Teich of New York City are parents of the future bride. Parents of the prospective groom are Jack and Dee McGowan of Grand Island.

Miss Teich graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1994. She received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is a self-employed handbag designer with her own company, TEICH Design.

McGowan is a 1993 graduate of Grand Island Central Catholic. He received a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He is a self-employed graphic designer with his own company, McGowan Design.
