A shorthanded Storm team fell at home to Des Moines 5-2 after giving up three third-period goals.

Taylor Matson's hat trick led the Buccaneers (13-34-4) to a rare win. He gave Des Moines a 1-0 lead at 14 minutes, 55 seconds of the first period but Tri-City's Chris Hickey tied it 50 seconds later.

Matson put the Bucs up for good with a power-play goal at 14:13 of the second.

He completed the hat trick 22 seconds into the third period. Greg Burgdoerfer and Austin Handley added goals to up the lead to 5-1 before Mike Cichy scored for Tri-City at 11:13.
