"The Look of Love," presented by the Grand Island Little Theatre's Live From the Park Series and featuring Omaha's Cabaret Theatre, will take the state at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in the Hornady Marshall Theater at College Park.
This original revue features jazz standards, Broadway showstoppers and popular songs. Known for its fabulous blend and beautiful solo voices, the performance by Cabaret Theatre will include standards such as "Love Walked In," "Here's That Rainy Day" and "How High the Moon." The second act features the music of Broadway.
Cabaret Theatre features Omaha-based performers Keith Allerton, Beth Asbjornson, Jerry Brabec, Camille Metoyer Moten and Rebecca Noble. Hastings College professor Jim Fritzler accompanies the group.
Tickets are $17.50 and may be purchased by calling the GILT Box Office, 382-2586, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.
March 29 to be a busy day at Fonner Park
Fonner Park will be a busy place on March 27 with its 17th annual Classic Car Show followed by a dance featuring the Rumbles.
All proceeds from the car show, limited to 50 entries, will benefit local charities. Awards will be presented at 5:30 p.m. There is no admission to view the car show.
The dance is set to begin at 7 p.m.; there is no admission charge for the dance for those who attended the afternoon races. For those not attending the races, there will be an admission charge for the dance.

CCC-Columbus to present Shakespeare comedy
COLUMBUS The Fine Arts Department at Central Community College-Columbus will present William Shakespeare's romantic comedy, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," March 27 through 30.
Demetrius and Lysander both want Hermia but she only has eyes for Lysander. The bad news is that Hermia's father wants Demetrius for a son-in-law. On the outside is Helena, whose unreturned love burns hot for Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander flee from the city under cover of darkness but are pursued by an enraged Demetrius, who is himself pursued by an enraptured Helena.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fine Arts Center at CCC-Columbus. Admission is $5, and tickets will be available at the door. CCC students, faculty and staff will be admitted free of charge.
Stage show seeks volunteers for cast, crew
"Rockin' with Rockwell," a stage production of "living art" featuring Norman Rockwell art mixed with rock and roll music from the 1950s and 60s, will raise money to fight Huntington's disease with three performances this summer.
Show times are 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Tassel in Holdrege, Saturday, June 31, at Merryman Performing Arts Center in Kearney, and Saturday, June 28, at Grand Island Senior High. Funds raised will go to the Hereditary Neurological Disease Center in Wichita, Kan., for research and support of those effected by Huntington's disease a genetic, neurological degenerative disease with no known cure.
Show producers are looking for volunteers for the cast and crew; there are singing and non-singing and speaking and non-speaking parts open for males and females, ages 5 to 80. Many parts don't require acting experience.
In addition the search is on for singers to perform as Elvis, the Mcguire Sisters or the Chordettes, Frankie Avalon, ShaNaNA, Julie Andrews, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra and the Everly Brothers.
Volunteers are also needed for a production crew including an assistant director, assistant choreographer, music assistant, stage crew, people to help with hair, makeup and costumes as well as assistance with ticket sales and advertising.

Hastings Museum hosts student art show
HASTINGS After six consecutive years at a variety of places, Hastings Public Schools Student Art Show has found a new home. The Hastings Museum is hosting the exhibit through April 8 in conjunction with National Youth Art Month in March.
The HPS Student Art Show includes approximately 150 to 200 young student works on display, including both two- and three-dimensional pieces.
A reception honoring the young artists and their families is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the museum.

A struggling songwriter named Dave Seville finds success when he comes across a trio of singing chipmunks: mischievous leader Alvin, brainy Simon and chubby, impressionable Theodore. This film stars Jason Lee and is rated PG.
