COWGILL To Jim and Michelle (Coates) Cowgill of Arvada, Colo. a daughter born March 1 at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheatridge, Colo. Grandparents are Larry and Kris Coates of Chapman, Lynne Coates of Grand Island and Steve and Emily Cowgill of Westminster, Colo. Great-grandmother is Irene Coates of Grand Island.

* Novedades Evelin, 517 W. Fourth St., reported a second-degree forgery there.
* Central Waste, 147 E. Roberts, reported an arson at 79 W. Second St. A trash bin was burned.
Hall County Sheriff
Law enforcement arrested four people on warrants in four cases. The following felony was reported:
* Timothy Knott, Grand island, reported an assault at the Hall County Jail.

* Sarah J. Larson, 35, 522 W. Second St., was charged with assault by a confined person and third-degree arson for March 20 incidents.
Driving under the influence
Dustin D. Cole, 23, Alda, $400, six months probation, 60 days no driving; Nicholas J. McCarville, 24, 3566 Hillside Drive, $500, seven days in jail, one year no driving; Allison Fults, 49, Arapahoe, $500, two days in jail, six months probation, one year no driving.
Street closure
Locust Street
The northbound lane of Locust Street from Koenig Street north to the alley will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The closure began on Friday and will be limited to Mondays through Fridays for demolition of the building at 233 S. Locust St. Work is estimated to take up to two weeks. The public sidewalk adjacent to the street will also be closed for the demolition work. The northbound lane will be closed as needed and will be open at night.
