ACTS OF KINDNESS
'Movement Improvement'
I am writing this letter to publicly acknowledge and extend gratitude and appreciation to the SC Ministry Foundation and the St. Francis Medical Center Foundation. Through the SC Ministry Foundation, the SFMC Foundation obtained a grant to train instructors who would be able to teach the "Movement Improvement," a 12-week exercise program. Recently, we just completed one of these exercise programs at St. Mary's Cathedral Square.
On behalf of all the participants, I offer a special thank you to Ed Nickel and Michelle Woodgate. Both instructors did a fantastic job motivating and teaching the weekly classes. Many of the 20 to 25 year-old adults who attended these sessions eagerly looked forward to the class, and expressed how their strength, balance, flexibility and general well-being improved. They regret the classes are finished but hopeful that, perhaps, these classes will be able to continue.

Tai Chi classes at St. Francis
St. Francis Medical Center is to be commended for offering free of charge Tai Chi classes. The classes were held weekly at St. Mary's Cathedral Square the past few months. Also, thanks to Sister Ann Ference for her encouragement to attend the above mentioned classes. In addition, we thank St. Francis Medical Center for donating "Movement Improvement" DVDs or videos to all who participated.

Engleman Carnival a success
We would like to thank everyone who helped with and attended Engleman Elementary's Fun Fest.
We had close to 100 businesses, schools, and families generously donate to our raffle, carnival and dinner. Over 75 volunteers gave of their time gathering donations, setting up, cleaning up, running a game or booth, and/or helping serve. Although there are too many names to mention, please know that we appreciate each of you. It took the efforts of many to make this event a successful fundraiser for the school and a fun event for the kids.
In addition, thank you Westridge Middle School for allowing us to use your new facility! It is beautiful and so accommodating for our large crowd. Thanks also to your kitchen and custodial staff who made themselves available to help in many ways. Engleman is grateful for your support.
This year Engleman PTO is focused on completing a mobile computer lab for the school as well as contributing to the playground equipment for the new school. Since Fun Fest is our schools' largest fundraiser, we again say thank you for everyone's help in generating money that will be given right back to the students and the school.
