Will candidates go to the reservations?

Lately we are hearing so much about racism, probably more than we really need to hear.

When the Pilgrims first landed on this continent, they were, according to history, welcomed by the Indians, or was it Native Americans? The Indians taught them to raise crops, care for their animals, how to find herbs that were beneficial for medical purposes, care for their land, etc. in the new environment.

Time went by and the two peoples began to have disagreements which eventually ended in fights, and of course the "whites" eventually rounded up their foes and penned them up in reservations.

I have never heard of any presidential candidates going into a reservation to observe the living conditions to those interned, and to make promises to them as to how they, the candidates if elected, would help to improve their living conditions, education, medical help, etc.

Is this racism?

Hello McCain, Obama and Hillary, where are you?

Ord's 'Melody Moms' meet weekly

I enjoyed reading Ellen Campbell's article about the Grandma's on the Go. I am a part of similar group-The Melody Moms at Ord. We sang together for 20 years 1969-1989, and we've coffee'd together for almost another 20 years. We meet every Sat. AM at 9 at the local coffee shop to exchange news about our families and what is happening in Ord. It is a priority for each of us-we are family.
