KEARNEY (AP) Maria Nilsson made four key free throws in overtime and Alaska-Anchorage advanced to the NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament semifinals for the first time with a 71-65 victory over Franklin Pierce.

The tournament is being held at the Health and Sports Center in Kearney.

The Seawolves (30-4) were led by the double-doubles of junior center Rebecca Kielpinksi (28 points, 14 rebounds) and senior guard Kahlie Quinones (16 points, 10 rebounds). Their performance overshadowed the 31-point, 18-rebound effort of the Ravens' Johannah Leedham, the national player of the year.

UAA will meet Northern Kentucky (26-8) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Thursday.

UAA outrebounded Franklin Pierce (27-6) by a 50-36 margin, including 26 offensive rebounds that led to 13 second-chance points.

Ruby Williams had nine points, Nilsson six and Jennifer Salazar a game-high eight assists for the Seawolves.

Toby Martin had 15 points for Franklin Pierce.

A Kielpinski layup tied it 60-60 with 34 seconds left in regulation. Quinones' shot in the lane with 3 seconds left came up short.

Quinones hit a layup to tie it 62-62 in overtime, and Nilsson hit two free throws at the 3:13 mark to put UAA up for good. Nilsson made two more foul shots with 16 seconds left to finish off Franklin Pierce.

Angela Healy added 16 points and eight rebounds and Cassie Brannen 15 points and six boards for Northern Kentucky.

Kate Edwards led Wingate (26-8) with 19 points, and Anna Atkinson added 16 points and Kasey Gillis 12.

Kendra Caldwell's jumper with 4:45 left in the first half broke a 25-all tie, and Rachel Lantry hit back-to-back 3s to put Northern Kentucky up 33-25.

Northern Kentucky took its biggest lead, 72-50, on two Nicole Chiodi free throws with 5:10 left.

Delta State 75, California (Pa.) 64

Jessica Boyd had four 3-pointers and 16 points to lead Delta State to a 75-64 win over California, Pa., in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Women's Elite Eight on Wednesday at the Health and Sports Center in Kearney.

The unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Lady Statesmen (33-0) advance to Thursday's semifinals where they play the winner of Wednesday's late game between South Dakota and Washburn.

Boyd was 6-for-10 from the field and made four of eight 3-point attempts. She was one of three Lady Statesmen in double figures. Joining her were Lakira Boyd with 12 points and Brittani Calhoun with 11.

Boyd's 3-pointer with 8:40 remaining until half gave Delta State its largest lead of the first half at 21-10. But the Vulcans (27-7) closed within 32-28 by halftime.

California hung around in the second half, getting as close as one point on Brooque Williams' layup to make it 45-44 with 14:02 left. Williams finished with a game-high 23 points and seven rebounds.
