Weather alters Huskers weekend schedule
Due to the threat of inclement weather, the schedule for this weekend's Big 12 softball series between Nebraska and No. 12 Oklahoma has been altered. The Huskers and Sooners will now play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and there will be no game on Sunday.
Fans with tickets for Saturday's game will be guaranteed their seats for both games. Fans with tickets for Sunday's game can bring their Sunday ticket to receive general admission seating for Saturday's doubleheader, or can use their Sunday ticket for general admission seating to any future Husker softball game.
Free live audio will still be available for both games on Huskers.com, but the status of live, streaming video is in question at this time. There is a possibility the first game of the doubleheader may be offered on HuskersNSide, but please check back with Huskers.com later today or tomorrow to see if that video feed will be available.
The schedule change marks the second straight time weather has forced a doubleheader between Nebraska and Oklahoma at Bowlin Stadium. In 2006, the squads were set to square off on Saturday and Sunday, before weather forced a Saturday doubleheader. The Huskers hope they fare as well tomorrow as they did in 2006, as Nebraska swept that doubleheader from OU, posting a 9-1 run-rule victory in the first game, before completing the sweep with a 3-0 win in game two.
Saturday's doubleheader is the first of three consecutive doubleheaders at Bowlin Stadium. Nebraska will also host Northern Iowa in a doubleheader on Monday at 2 p.m. before welcoming South Dakota State to Bowlin Stadium on Wednesday for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
