* David I. Heredia, 19, Lyons, Kan., pleaded not guilty to aiding and abetting first-degree assault and third-degree assault for a Feb. 3 incident involving Casey Smith and Willie Walker. His pretrial is scheduled for May 7.
* Carmen R. Larson, also known as Carmen Walker, 34, 508 1/2 S. Adams St., pleaded no contest to three counts of distribution of methamphetamine for March 14, 2007, and April 4, 2007, incidents. Her sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
* Raymond Hawkins Jr., 35, 1820 S. Lincoln Ave., pleaded no contest to terroristic threats, stalking and willful reckless driving for a Dec. 12, 2007, incident involving Nickcole Hawkins. His sentencing is scheduled for May 16.
* Juan Gonzalez-Deleon, also known as Juan Deleon and Juan Gonzalez, 36, 616 S. Eddy St., pleaded no contest to aggravated driving under the influence for a Dec. 30, 2007, incident. A charge of driving during a 15-year license revocation was dismissed for the same incident. His sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
* Robert E. Michalski, 54, 518 E. Capital Ave., No. 56, pleaded no contest to first-degree sexual assault on a child for an incident that occurred between Jan. 1, 2005, and Aug. 19, 2007. A charge of incest was dismissed for the same incident. His sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
* Mardell J. Stanfill, 59, 200 Stoeger Drive, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault by menacing threat, reduced from felony tampering with a witness, for an incident that occurred between March 18, 2007, and June 1, 2007. Stanfill was fined $400.
* William J. Smith, 56,132 North Lane, pleaded no contest to violation of the sexual offender registration act for a Nov. 29, 2007, incident. His sentencing is scheduled for May 29.
* Terri L. Mason, 27, Grand Island, pleaded not guilty to failure to appear for an Oct. 31, 2007, incident, and possession of methamphetamine for an Aug. 31, 2007, incident. Her pretrial is scheduled for May 7.
* Robert L. Denny Jr., 39, 515 E. 16th St., pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine for an April 6, 2007, incident. His sentencing is scheduled for May 20.
* Simon V. Hernandez, 23, 604 E. Memorial Drive, was sentenced to one to two years in prison for driving during a 15-year license revocation for a Jan. 25, 2006, incident. He was also ordered not to drive for 15 years.
* Johnny M. Gomez, 35, Doniphan, pleaded no contest to first-degree forgery for an Aug. 9, 2007, incident. His sentencing is scheduled for May 21.
* Mary Lou Hulinsky, 62, 310 W. Sixth St., pleaded not guilty to four counts of child abuse for a Jan. 1, 2006, incident. Her trial is scheduled for June.
* Michael G. Mostek, 18, Wood River, pleaded not guilty to theft by unlawful taking for a Feb. 1 incident involving property of Bosselman's. His trial is scheduled for June.

n William E. Palmgren, 40, Grand Island, was sentenced to 180 days in jail for misdemeanor attempted burglary, reduced from a felony, for a Feb. 11 incident.
* Kara L. Schwanke, 42, Grand Island, was sentenced to 180 days in jail for misdemeanor attempted burglary, reduced from a felony, for a Feb. 11 incident.
* Travis R. Hansen, 19, 719 N. Broadwell was charged with attempted robbery and attempted first-degree assault for an April 3 incident involving Vincent Gorla.

An article on the Comstock Music Series in Friday's Independent incorrectly described Viaero Wireless' status as a sponsor.
The company did not drop its sponsorship of the old Comstock festival, but the event no longer exists. Viaero President Steve Hosid said he looks forward to future meetings about potential involvement with the new series.

The news release from the city regarding its latest violation of wastewater discharges was issued on Thursday. The day the news release was sent was incorrect in Friday's newspaper.
