An open house will be hosted by the family of Dorothy Adams in honor of her 80th birthday. The event is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Mason City Community Building, in Mason City.

Mrs. Adams was born March 22, 1928, in Custer County.

Her family includes Vir Jean Adams of Ainsworth, Barbara Gibbs of Thousand Oaks, Calif., George and Nancy Kucera of Litchfield, Myron and Mary Beck of La Crescenta, Calif., and the late Roger Adams. She has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
