Robert and Jean Peters and Hal Dowhower of Homer announce the engagement of their daughter, Britni Leigh Dowhower, to Jason Scott Harris, son of Mike and Bernice Harris of Grand Island.

The couple plan a May 17, 2008 wedding at the Anderson Dance Pavilion in Sioux City, Iowa, with a reception to follow at Bev's on the River.

Miss Dowhower is a 2007 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and works for GFRC Incorp. in Lincoln.

Harris, a 1998 graduate of Grand Island Senior High, attended DeVry Institute of Technology at Kansas City, Mo., from 1998 to 2001. He is a manager for Chipotle Mexican Grill in Lincoln.

The couple plan a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas.
