This summer The Groundwater Foundation and Bright Lights will partner to bring Outdoor Adventures in H2O - Water! to the Bright Lights summer camp program, June 9 to 13.

Outdoor Adventures in H2O - Water! is a week long day camp for post fifth through seventh-grade students who enjoy exploring new places, discovering new things, and being outside.

Each day the camp will travel by bus to a different location in and around Lincoln seeking a new adventure with one of the most important resources on the planet - water.

Students will visit a stream, a lake, a groundwater-fed spring, a working farm, and a prairie. Experiences will include stream walks, catching and examining water critters, testing water samples with professional equipment, playing games, conducting scientific experiments, making crafts, and more.

This is a fast-paced mobile classroom designed for students who don't like to sit still. The only requirement is that students come prepared to get wet, have fun, and explore the amazing resource of water.

Carla Otredosky, Youth Program Coordinator says "This camp has something for everyone. Outdoor Adventures in H2O - Water! will provide an opportunity for students to develop their appreciation for the environment and an understanding of the role water play in our everyday lives."

Registration begins April 1, 2008 through Bright Lights. The camp is limited to 24 students on a first-come, first serve basis. To learn more visit http://www.groundwater.org/kc/adventuresinh2o.html.

Adventures in Water is sponsored by, Nebraska Humanities Council, Rogers Foundation, Valmont Industries, Inc., and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
