At its 8 a.m. meeting Wednesday, the Hall County Airport Authority will welcome public comment on bids it received for Essential Air Service at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport.

In March, the CNRA received bids from Hawaii Island Air and Great Lakes Aviation to provide Essential Air Service from Grand Island to the Kansas City International Airport.

Representatives from both carriers are expected to give presentations on their proposals at Wednesday's meeting.

Using comments it receives from an online survey and the public hearing, the airport board will likely decide on a preferred carrier and schedule at their Friday retreat. They will then look to the city to give final approval of the recommendation. The U.S. Department of Transportation will make the decision on the carrier and schedule.
