Hall County Sheriff's deputies are seeking a man wanted for robbing a Pump & Pantry convenience store at gunpoint.

Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, a clerk was closing the Pump & Pantry at 3507 E. Bismark when a man wearing a ski mask and a dark hooded jacket entered the store. The man had a handgun and demanded that the clerk empty the cash register and safe into a bag, which she did, said Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Rea.

The man then took the woman into a room in the back of the store and struck her in the head numerous times with the gun. The clerk was knocked unconscious, Rea said.

When the clerk regained consciousness she set off the store's security alarm and called 911. According to the surveillance tape in the store, she was unconscious for about seven minutes, Rea said.

The clerk was able to give deputies a description, Rea said.

She was treated at St. Francis Medical Center and released, he said.

Deputies are looking for a man, possibly of Hispanic descent, with a mustache and a medium build, Rea said.

He said they're following several leads and asked that anyone with information about the robbery call the Sheriff's Department at 385-5200.
