Next week's trial for a woman charged in the murder of a Somali man has been postponed until June.
Jennifer L. Ehlers, 20, of Grand Island is charged with being an accessory to a felony for the Aug. 12, 2007, death of Faud Osman.
Her trial had been set to start on Monday in Hall County District Court. However, it has been postponed to the week of June 16.
Osman, 26, of Grand Island was found dead near a Hall County road. He died of a skull fracture and gunshot wound to the back, according to authorities.
John M. Zechmann and Amanda M. Weddle are also charged in connection with the death.
Zechmann, 21, of Grand Island is charged with first-degree murder and using a weapon to commit a felony. In December 2007, he entered the Lincoln Regional Center for treatment until he was ruled competent to stand trial. A hearing on his competency is scheduled for April 24 in district court.
Weddle, 20, is charged with aiding and abetting first-degree murder. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11. She has agreed to testify against her co-defendants and was released from jail on her own recognizance in October 2007. As part of her bond, she was ordered to live with her father in St. Paul.
In addition to the murder, Weddle is charged with being an accessory to a felony for a Jan. 25 shooting at a Grand Island bar. Her preliminary hearing in the bar shooting case is scheduled for May 1.
