McKenzie Cochran, Patrick York and Phillip Zuehlke, all of Grand Island, will be participating as student performers in the University of Nebraska at Kearney Department of Music and Performing Arts annual New Music Festival.Concert times will be 7:30 p.m. Monday and at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Angela Reynolds of Wood River is a member of the Big Event UNK executive team who will help in the third annual Big Event, a day of service to the Kearney community provided by University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Hastings college senior Jeff Richards of Geneva and junior Meggan Lloyd of Hastings were chosen as Hunger Justice Leaders by Bread for the World. They will participate in a workshop in Washington, D.C. in June.
The University of Nebraska at Kearney Opera Workshop will present Australian composer Malcolm Fox's opera for children "Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing" on April 18. UNK sophomore Patrick York of Grand Island has been cast as Sid and Michelle Conley is also a performer.
Adam Clayton of Central City and Kendra Hansen of Grand Island will be among the featured artists at Nebraska Wesleyan University's Elder Gallery exhibit which opens April 22 at the Rogers Center for Fine Arts.
Sonya Cisneros of Grand Island is participating in the Cooperative Education Program at Central Community College-Grand Island. Cisneros, a business technology major, is serving as a receptionist, doing filing and performing other office duties at Eye Care Professionals in Grand Island. Cisneros is a graduate of Minden High School and is the daughter of Marion and Eloisa Cisneros
